If you think reality is just living comfortably and following your own whims,

Books loved anyone who opened them, they gave you security and friendship and didn’t ask for anything in return; they never went away, never, not even when you treated them badly.
We like companionship, see, but we can’t stand to be around people for very long. So we go get ourselves lost, come back for a while, then get the hell out again.
That’s how you know you really trust someone, I think. When you don’t have to talk all the time to make sure they still like you or prove that you have interesting stuff to say.
Issac:”I dislike living in a world without Augustus Waters.”
Computer: “I don’t understand-“
Issac: “Me neither. Pause”
— John Green (The Fault in Our Stars)
Deciding whether or not to trust a person is like deciding whether or not to climb a tree, because you might get a wonderful view from the highest branch, or you might simply get covered in sap, and for this reason many people choose to spend their time alone and indoors, where it is harder to get a splinter.
I’m with love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you…
